PhD researchers Jo and Dayo took part in organising the 2025 Women in STEM at Nottingham University

On the 7th March 2025, committee including Dayo and Jo hosted the University of Nottingham Women in STEM conference and careers fair. This was a fantastic day filled with talks from industry and academia, highlighting the pathways for women in science and various career opportunities, all centred around the theme of allyship. As well as this, it was just a great chance to discuss the science itself!

We hosted an amazing selection of posters from students and postdoctoral researchers across the UK and even saw some amazing 3 minute thesis presentations from PhD students.

Alongside this, we hosted a careers fair to provide the opportunity for attendees to discuss possible career opportunities and make connections with a variety of industries.

Congratulations to all the NAMI students who either presented a poster or did a 3-minute thesis presentation: Noor, Nathan, Melissa, Adeife, Celia.

Thank you to Jack, Kieran, and Yi for assessing some of the posters.

Congratulations to Celia for winning the 3-minute thesis competition and to Nathan and Melissa for finishing 4th and 5th in the poster competition.
